Mr. Holman has been with the organization since his graduation from Princeton in 1950. His father, the late Steward C. Holman, founded the Holman organization in 1924. Under his leadership, the organization has grown significantly while remaining true to its founding principles. Long active within the community, Mr. Holman’s present and past affiliations include the Camden County United Way, Rowan University Foundation, American Red Cross, and Cooper Hospital University Medical Center. He is a Life Trustee and Distinguished Fellow of Coriell Institute for Medical Research.
Ms. Holman joined the Company in 1986 and worked in various positions within the company’s retail operations, including serving as General Manager at several different Holman dealerships. Ms. Holman served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Holman Automotive before becoming Chairman of the Board in 2015. Her civic memberships include serving as a member of the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey; serving as Vice Chair of the Community Foundation of South Jersey; and serving as a member of the Moorestown Friends School Committee. She holds a B.S. from the College of William and Mary and a Master’s degree from Old Dominion University.
Mr. Ortell joined the Holman family of companies in 1986 as an internal auditor, transferring to ARI in 1987. In his time with ARI, he served in multiple operational and financial positions with increasing responsibility, including chief financial officer and chief operating officer, eventually serving as president of the company from 2010-2015. Mr. Ortell led the company through turbulent economic times while continuing to grow the business, expanding to new global markets, and most notably, building on the culture of learning and employee development that put ARI on FORTUNE’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from LaSalle University.
Mr. Bates’ career began with Holman in 1989 when he completed an internship as a service writer at Holman Ford. He went on to complete an internship as an ASE-certified service technician in ARI’s Call Center. Upon graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in Economics in 1991, he joined ARI full time as a financial analyst in the accounting department and went on to serve in several management positions within ARI and Holman, eventually being named Chief Financial Officer for all of Holman. As CFO, he was responsible for the global financial operations for all of the organization’s operating companies. He was named Chief Operating Officer in 2015 and was responsible for identifying potential synergies among Holman’s operating companies and implementing operational efficiencies across the various areas of business. Mr. Bates was appointed President and CEO of Holman Consumer Services in 2016 and is responsible for leading three of Holman’s six businesses: Holman Automotive, Steward Financial Services and Holman Insurance Services.
Mr. Conroy joined ARI in 1994 as part of the Canadian client services team and went on to serve in a variety of roles in the U.S. and Canada, including Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ARI Canada and Executive Vice President of Global Operations. Mr. Conroy was a key architect of ARI’s strategy and eventual expansion into the European market. He led ARI’s most recent strategic planning initiative resulting in a focused approach to growth and service delivery through 2020. Mr. Conroy became President and Chief Executive Officer of ARI in 2015. Today, he serves as President and CEO of Holman Business Services while continuing to serve as CEO of ARI. His leadership, strategic planning and execution experience are invaluable to the company’s global operations and overall success. Mr. Conroy attended the University of Ottawa and the Stephen J.R. Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
Mr. Cariss has been with the company since 1984, beginning his career at ARI. His roles at ARI included Account Executive, District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Manager. He joined the retail operations in 1996 as Executive Assistant to the President of Holman Enterprises and went on to become Vice President of Dealership Operations in 2001. Mr. Cariss currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Holman Enterprises. His role focuses on identifying future investment opportunities across all Holman business segments. Mr. Cariss received a B.S. in Business Administration from Messiah College and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
Ms. Mullin joined the company in 1991 as General Counsel. Prior to that, she was a partner with the law firm of Whitmore, Kay & Steven in Palo Alto, California. In 2015, she became Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer of Holman Enterprises and is responsible for Holman Enterprises’ corporate, external and legal affairs. Ms. Mullin’s role has grown over time to include risk management as well. She received her B.A. from Mt. Holyoke College in 1977 and her J.D. from Santa Clara Law School in 1982.
Mr. Beideman joined Holman Automotive in 1981. He was appointed Vice President/General Manager of Saturn of Mount Laurel in 1992, Vice President/General Manager of Saturn of Turnersville in 1993, Saturn of English Creek in 1996, and went on to serve as Vice President/General Manager of Holman Motorcars and Holman Infiniti in 1999. In 2006, he became Vice President of Resource Development for Holman Enterprises.
Chris started his career with ARI in Canada in June of 2010 as Vice President of Finance. Then in August of 2013 Chris transitioned to Vice President of Finance at Holman Enterprises. Prior to working for ARI he worked for BMW for seven years starting as Treasurer and was quickly promoted to the Director of Tax; after which he was promoted to Corporate Controller. Before working for BMW he worked for three years at General Motors of Canada and four years at KPMG.
Mr. Haindl joined ARI in 2008 as Vice President of Information Technology. He formerly served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Commerce Bank. He was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer in 2010 and then to Executive Vice President for Technology and Innovation in 2013. During his time with ARI, his experience and expertise strengthened many areas of the company leading to new products, partnerships and technologies. He was also integral to ARI’s expansion in the UK and Europe. Mr. Haindl currently serves as Executive Vice President, Technology and Innovation for Holman Enterprises and is responsible for designing and executing the IT strategy for all of company’s operating companies. He is a graduate of Drexel University and holds an MBA in technology management from the University of Phoenix and an EMBA from St. Joseph’s University.
